We're known for a lot of things here in Florida, but mostly for our beaches, oranges and strange stories.

Some of America's most popular cities are here, too: Tampa, Orlando and Miami just to name a few.

But many towns in this area have their own story. Drive by them, and you may not realize how much history sits in some of these areas.

That's why we call them Florida's Hidden Gems. Click through our four-part series, and you might learn a thing or two about our local communities.


It was once one of the fastest growing cities in Florida, but a bit of bad luck changed the course of this town forever:


You probably have heard of it for two reasons: The water bottling company and skydive city. But you don't know this side of the story:


It's a town whose history is reflected in its name, and this is how it got that name:


Perhaps the most character of any town in this area. It's known as the Caladium Bulb Capital of the World and The Town of Murals:
