Metropolitan Ministries probably has one of the busiest kitchens in town this Thanksgiving.
Volunteers and staff are working hard to make sure that everyone in the Bay area gets a warm meal on this cold day.
For the last few weeks, volunteers have been collecting turkeys, canned goods and everything else needed for the today's meal. Staff will first be serving breakfast this morning and then the big Thanksgiving feast later this evening.
The cooks started at 3:30 a.m., warming up the stoves and making sure that they have plenty of time to prepare everything.
Families and those in need will receive the works today: turkey meal with mashed potatoes, stuffing and gravy.
Organizers say it's about giving back to the community and making sure that everyone enjoys this Thanksgiving Day.
