Many travelers at Tampa International Airport were left seeing red on one of the busiest travel days of the year. Tampa International had more than 130 flight delays on Wednesday, as weather and high volume caused a traffic jam in airports across the country.
Loved ones waited it out to welcome love ones home for the holiday.
Klint Coy was one of hundreds staking it out. He was waiting to see his fiance' Hannah after six months of separation. He's a cadet in the U.S. Army, while she's in school at the U.S. Naval Academy.
"She's coming over here to visit me and my family for Thanksgiving. I can't wait to pick her up," the Valrico native said.
Hannah's flight was delayed from Baltimore to Tampa, but after minutes that seemed more like hours, the two were finally together.
"It's so perfect. I've just missed him so much. I guess what we've both been through has been a lot. It just makes it worth it. He's worth it," Hannah Hjelmstrom said as she embraced her fiance' in TIA's terminal.
Tampa International Airport estimates 55,000 people made their way in and out of the airport on Wednesday. They recommend giving yourself at least 90 minutes to make your way to your flight this holiday weekend.
