Police are offering a cash reward for answers in a bizarre shooting in Winter Haven this week.

Ruby Bing was shot to death by her own mother, according to investigators. Police say Bing's mother, Adele, told them she thought her former boyfriend was knocking on the door – and she feared he was going to attack her.

So, she told police she opened the door and fired a shot. However, the person standing on the other side of the door was not her boyfriend – rather her daughter.

At the time, she was holding her 4-month-old child. Tragically, Ruby died. The child was not hurt.

Police want to know more. They still have a lot more questions they need answered, and they're hoping someone out there can help.

They're offering a cash reward for anyone who saw the shooting or might know where the gun is.
