City officials: Cracks in home likely not sinkhole

TAMPA (FOX 13) -

City officials say what may have been a possible sinkhole could also just be bad tiling, FOX 13's April Kellogg reports.

The Red Cross was assisting a family in the 2100 block of West Sligh Avenue after fears of a sinkhole forced them from the house.

The family of seven that was staying at the house says they were all sitting in their living room last night when the floor just started to buckle. That's when they called for help around 7:30.

City officials made their way out to inspect this morning, and they have concluded it is likely not a sinkhole.

However, their investigation continues today.
