Choir from Long Island to sing at White House

NEW YORK (MYFOXNY) -

Plenty of excitement is being felt at Glen Cove High School on Long Island. The choir is heading to Washington, D.C., in just a few weeks to sing Christmas carols at the White House.

The choir will be singing at the White House on Friday, December 13.

The group will be singing a set before many national dignitaries, including U.S. Senators, members of the House of Representatives and quite possibly the President.

Additionally, the group will carol throughout Washington D.C., making stops at the National Christmas Tree as well as the Vietnam, Martin Luther King Jr. and Lincoln memorials and possibly the Capitol Building.

the GCHS Select Choir has performed at many prestigious venues including Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center, LeFrak Concert Hall (Queens College), the United Nations Building, Citi Field and Shea Stadium. Last year they were one of only 10 choirs in the region invited to participate in the Westminster Choir College Invitational Choral Festival. The group has also traveled to festivals in Florida, Virginia, Maryland and Pennsylvania.
