If you run into trouble driving down the highway, the Road Rangers are a welcome sight.
They've been helping stranded motorists since 1999.
In an addition to giving motorists a little gas or a jump start, FDOT says they also ensure safety and free up FHP troopers to handle emergency calls.
But everything has a price, and here are the numbers for the Bay Area, which includes five counties: Hillsborough, Hernando, Pinellas, Polk and Pasco.
FDOT pays $44.00 an hour for each truck and the average is about 6,600 hours a month. That adds up to $290,400 a month or $3,484,800 a year.
Is that money worth it or wasted?
