The East Lake Eagles could be the best shot for a Pinellas County high school to finally win a state football title.
East Lake set a school record with an undefeated regular season. The Eagles reached another goal when they won the district title.
Now, this Tarpon Springs powerhouse works to make a run in the playoffs, and win that elusive state title.
"Everyone's chasing that, so obviously you can't even express what it would mean. But we've got to go one game at a time," Head coach Bob Hudson says.
The coach's son, quarterback Jake Hudson, expects this Eagles team to win it all.
"First time in all the county, it would be a great honor. We've got the best team around. I feel like and we've got a special group," Jake said.
East Lake hosts Palmetto Friday night in the opening round of the playoffs.
