Jurors heard from the prosecution's star witness Wednesday in the Dontae Morris trial.
It was Morris' friend who says he admitted to the crimes to her over the phone. It was not as strong of a day in court for the prosecution, but still jurors have a lot to think about over the next few days.
Already, jurors have watched a heart wrenching dash cam video of the deaths of officers David Curtis and Jeffrey Kocab.
Jurors on Wednesday then heard from Ashley Price. She says she's a friend of Morris's. She says they were intimate once and dated. She also says he called her several times after the murder.
According to Price, Morris once told her he did it because he had to get away from the cops.
The defense questioned her as well and did find some holes in her story – things she didn't remember saying about Morris and parts of the story where she seemed confused.
At one point, the defense asked for a mistrial twice, claiming the prosecution was using evidence inappropriately.
The judge denied the requests.
Jurors also heard graphic testimony from the medical examiner.
Testimony continues Wednesday morning.
