TAMPA (FOX 13) -

Fire crews put out a blaze in a condo along South Howard Avenue Friday night.

It happened at the Soho Condominiums at 1301 S. Howard in a 2nd floor unit.

Firefighters say heavy smoke and flames were coming from the unit in building "C" when they arrived. It took about 20 minutes to put it out.

The damage was significant and the unit is uninhabitable, the fire department said.

They said residents of adjacent units would not be displaced, but not did not say whether those units had any damage.

No one was home when the fire started; the cause is under investigation.
