Sister to the nearby Crescent Oaks, Wentworth Golf Club is perhaps the finest course open to the public in Tarpon Springs.

Lexington Oaks is one of the more balanced golf courses you'll find in our area, and it's certainly one of your best options in North Tampa/Pasco County region.

The Claw is home to some of the toughest par-5s you can find around here, and many forget about its renovated practice facility, which is one of the nicest in Tampa.

TAMPA (FOX 13) -

Not only is TPC Tampa Bay one of the Bay area's best courses, it's one of the best in all of Florida.

During some months, you'll pay up to $150 in greens fees, but you'll get your money's worth. It winds through the neighborhoods along Lutz Lake Fern Road, and at about 6,900 yards, provides a stern challenge from the championship tees.

Don't let its beauty fool you. This course has bite. The condition of the course is superb. The greens are beautifully manicured.

Having played it, I can tell you it will be some of the best four hours of golf you've ever played.

Our favorites:

Favorite par-3: I absolutely love No. 17. It's gorgeous, and it's also a very fair hole. Visually intimidating? Yes. There is water in front and greenside bunkers, but the green is massive at nearly 11,000 square feet.

Favorite par-4: It's hard to pick one, so I won't. No. 9 and No. 18 are equally impressive – but for two very different reasons. No. 9 is the hardest hole on the course. From the championship tees, it's 472 yards long, and the two-tiered green requires you to put the ball in the right spot. No. 18, on the other hand, wraps around a large body of water. It's a great balance of difficulty and beauty.

Favorite par-5: No. 14 is the longest par-5 on the course, and trying to get there in two is not advised. If you're playing up on the tees, there is a huge bunker up the left-hand side in play. If you land in it, good luck making par. It's tight. It's narrow. This is no easy par-5.
