Guns found near high school football game

LAKELAND (FOX 13) -

Lakeland Police arrested a man for gun possession at Lakeland High School's football game on Friday.

Police and Polk Deputies say they stepped up security, to prevent criminal activity in and around the stadium.

They say they found six guns on or near stadium grounds.

Lakeland police say they arrested 22-year-old Rodney Tyrone Williams from Oldsmar. He was allegedly sitting in the stadium, carrying a concealed gun, when he was arrested.

Police say they arrested a 16-year-old boy, near the stadium, and charged him with gun possession.

Lakeland police say they also arrested 19-year-old Frederick Roberts, from Lakeland. They say he was carrying a gun, and brass knuckles, near 4th street and Missouri ave.

Investigators also say they found four loaded handguns under the sear of a car parked near the stadium.
