Monday, jury selection will begin in the Dontae Morris trial. He's charged with murdering officers Jeffrey Kocab and David Curtis in 2010.
Tampa police will be watching the case very closely.
Chief Jane Castor says the trial will close one chapter, but it can also reopen emotional wounds.
The chief says it's the hardest on the families of the men killed.
"What brings it home for me is to see those Curtis boys, you know as they grow, to really think about the fundamental unfairness of them having to grow up without their father," Castor said.
Castor says she thinks the trial will be quick, and she fully expects a guilty verdict.
