Fugitive doctor from St. Pete arrested in Morocco on molestation charges

ST. PETERSBURG (FOX 13) -

He's been on the run for more than 10 years, but a doctor from St. Petersburg has finally been tracked down in Morocco.

He is accused of child molestation. His name is Rory Patrick Doyle, 58, and he was arrested by U.S. Marshals in Casablanca.

In July of 2000, Doyle was arrested by the St Petersburg and Treasure Island police departments on allegations of child molestation between 1994 and 2000.

While awaiting trial on these charges, Doyle fled the United States to avoid prosecution, authorities say. He went to Ireland and changed his name to David West.

When Irish police tracked him down a few years ago, he took off to Morocco. Interpol tracked him down last year at an apartment in Tangier.

Doyle is back in a Pinellas County jail awaiting prosecution.
