Hundreds of Trick-or-Treaters swamped the sidewalks of south Tampa's Prospect Road on Thursday. While their costumes varied from scary to sweet, all of the characters were on the same mission to score sweets.
Some homeowners along the Halloween hotspot say they prepare for 400 to 500 trick-or-treaters each year. Debbie Canton transformed her home into a haunted house early Thursday morning.
"I don't put my stuff up ahead of time because I like it to be just for Halloween night. I like the kids to anticipate what's coming out," Canton smiled.
Canton and her neighbor Michael DeMarcay deck out their homes for the holiday each year. DeMarcay's home was complete with a smoke machine, flying witch, and light show.
"Having young kids, they enjoy it so much. Getting out in the neighborhood, seeing all the neighbors. Every night for the month of October, people come by and press all the buttons, they want to see all the gizmos and gadgets we've got going. So it's a lot of fun," DeMarcay said Thursday.
