TAMPA (FOX 13) -

Drivers along I-275 in Tampa saw a scary scene Friday afternoon when a recreational vehicle caught fire, sending black smoke spewing into the sky.

It was just before 2 p.m. when the RV caught fire in the northbound lanes, near the Himes Avenue exit. All northbound traffic was blocked while crews dodged propane tank blasts and doused the flames.

A few minutes later, though, the flames were out and at least two lanes were slowly getting by.

The two occupants of the RV, along with their dog, had made it safely from the vehicle before firefighters arrived, TFR said.
