Philadelphia Police were on scene of a reported pipe bomb finding in Oxford Circle.
The incident was reported early Thursday morning by a female inside a residence on the 6100 block of Shisler St.
There were a total of six pipe bombs inside a box in the woman's basement, one was nearly ready to explode.
15 nearby homes were evacuated, while hundreds of students at a school were instructed to stay inside.
Police have put out the explosive device with The Philadelphia Bomb Squad. No injuries have been reported from the scene.
"Now we have to do a complete and thorough search of the property from top to bottom to make sure that there is nothing else here," Chief John Sullivan of Homeland Security said.
Neighbors were on edge as crews worked to get rid of the devices.

ATF Agents announced an arrest of a 36- year- old Michael Beer in Northampton County.
Authorities say they believe the threat is over.
