GWINNETT COUNTY, Ga. -

Police have located a stolen truck they say is connected to a triple murder in Snellville.

Authorities believe that Robert Bell shot four people at a home on Anderson-Livsey Lane in Snellville on Sept. 15. Three of the victims did not survive, including 34-year-old Angelina Benton, her 12-year-old son Joseph and her 19-year-old godson Raynord Daniel. Benton's boyfriend, Justin Cato, is recovering from gunshot wounds.

Bell, 33, was a houseguest with the family prior to the crime.

Authorities recovered Bell's SUV with what they believe to be the murder weapon at the scene of the shooting.

Police suspect that Bell fled on foot after losing the keys to his vehicle and stole Bill Whatley's 2002 Chevrolet Silverado about a mile from the scene of the shooting.

"Not being able to drive his SUV away from the scene, he left the weapons and probably searched to find the vehicle that he could easily steal and drive away from the scene," said Cpl. Jake Smith of the Gwinnett County Police Department.

The truck was found abandoned in New Orleans on Oct. 2 and police now believe Bell may be hiding in the Big Easy. Smith said police are unsure why Bell would be in New Orleans.

Whatley said he was stunned to learn that his truck had some involvement with the triple murder.

"It's kind of like I don't want the truck back, just knowing what it's been in and this guy was in it, kind of just don't want a part of it anymore," said Whatley.

For the time being, the truck is being held for evidence.

Bell remains on the run. Anyone with information is asked to call CrimeStoppers at 404-577-8477(TIPS).  A $5,000 reward is being offered in the case.
