NJ Drivers Blinded By Sun

Posted: Updated:
Trenton, New Jersey (My9NJ) -

Many motorists are complaining that the sun’s glare is blinding them during rush hour, especially those riding down Route 4 in Passaic and Bergen Counties. The route directly faces the rising sun.

The risk of accidents is greater in this area due to lack of visibility. Mario Mantrone, a Bergen County motorist said, “At a certain angle you definitely can’t see what you’re doing or see what’s in front of you.”

There is also a new Fort Lee high rise building which is reflecting the setting sun into driver’s eyes when they drive west in the afternoon. There have been no lawsuits against the building’s company, but there have been countless complaints.

Many drivers point out that the sun is timeless, and work is work. Michael Lyons, a Bergen County motorist, said “It’s a lot of complaining. People like to complain.” Motorists seem to just have to do what they have to do to get to work.

To help stop glare, a heavy tint can be put on your windshield, but there are laws against excessive windshield tints. Ophthalmologists also warn that tinted windshields reduce visibility when driving in the dark. They recommend wearing polarized sunglasses to block out the glare.

According to the Mid-Atlantic AAA, the sun’s glare will continue during rush hour until at least Daylight Savings Time in early November.

StubHub, which is a website that provides services for buyers and sellers for tickets to sporting events, concerts, and other live entertainment events, has been hacked. StubHub is getting a lot of bad press, but the site is really the victim here. The hackers have hacked accounts from other sites, and then used that information to get into the StubHub accounts.
