VENICE (FOX 13) -

Police say a Venice woman was held against her will in a van by a convicted sex offender.

She escaped, but now police are looking for another woman he might have done this to. Ronald Karas is facing multiple charges, including false imprisonment, battery and solicitation for prostitution.

A woman called Venice police yesterday saying Karas had pulled up alongside her in a landscaping van and promised her a job.

When she got in the van, she said Karas offered her money in exchange for sex acts. She told police she told him no and tried to get out of the van, but he kept driving.

She was eventually able to jump out of the van. Police found Karas a short time later and placed him under arrest.

Detectives are asking anyone who might have been approached by Karas to call the Venice Police Department.
