Ireland Nugent to receive new prosthetic legs

Posted: Updated:
TAMPA (FOX 13) -

Thursday marks another big step in little Ireland Nugent's recovery. She's getting fitted for new prosthetics.

Ireland is only 3 years old, and has already had nine surgeries since April. That's when she was tragically injured in a lawnmower accident outside her home in Palm Harbor.

Ireland was fitted with her first set of prosthetic legs in June. But because she's growing so quickly, she already needs a new ones.

Doctors in Orlando will fit Ireland at 10 a.m. and she's expected to be up and walking on her new legs at noontime.
