Get ready to do the "Stingray Shuffle." This is mating season, which means there are a lot more stingrays near the shore.
At least 10 people were stung at Bay area beaches Wednesday.
Lido beach lifeguard Mark Miller reminds swimmers to shuffle their feet in the sand as they enter the water.
"The only time they will sting you is if you step on them," he told us.
First responders say they've also gotten a lot of calls for jellyfish stings.
In either case, if you get stung, the best treatment is hot water. But if you think you may be having a more severe reaction, you should call 911 and seek medical treatment.
