ATLANTA -

The Atlanta Braves announced their roster for the NLDS that begins Thursday against the L.A. Dodgers with one notable omission: Dan Uggla.

It is a rumor that had been building and was confirmed with the roster release on Wednesday.

It isn't a new position for Uggla to be in, but the move has Braves manager Fredi Gonzalez calling out his .179 average this season as not being good enough to win in the Postseason.

This is a far cry from two years ago when the slugger chased a 33-game hitting streak and is the first time he's hit below .200 since his move to the Majors in 2006.

No official statement was released Wednesday about the move.

The Braves are putting their best foot forward drawing on both previous Postseason experience and the young blood of the team to make up the 25-man roster. It includes 14 Postseason players including two that have played in World Series games. Four rookies also made the final cut.

Here's the roster release for the National League Division Series:

PITCHERS (11): Luis Avilan (LH), Luis Ayala (RH), David Carpenter (RH), Freddy Garcia (RH),
David Hale (RH), Craig Kimbrel (RH), Kris Medlen (RH), Mike Minor (LH), Julio Teheran (RH), Jordan Walden (RH) and Alex Wood (LH)

CATCHERS (3): Evan Gattis, Gerald Laird and Brian McCann

INFIELDERS (5): Freddie Freeman, Paul Janish, Chris Johnson, Elliot Johnson and Andrelton Simmons

OUTFIELDERS (6): Jose Constanza, Jason Heyward, Reed Johnson, Jordan Schafer, B.J. Upton and Justin Upton

The first two games of the series will be played at Turner Field. Game one is Thursday starting at 8:37 p.m. For more on the games: http://tinyurl.com/ng4cclx
