The bay area is a little bit more beautiful this weekend, thanks to some familiar faces.
Our Fox 13 Care Force team got up bright and early Saturday morning, for this year's 36th annual Hillsborough River Coastal Cleanup.
More than 40,000 of volunteers pitched in, filling up bag after bag of trash, in 70 areas along the coast.
Event coordinator Patricia DePlasco says 70% of litter ends up in our water, and it's up to all of us to pitch in, for a cleaner earth.
DePlasco says it's our job to lead by example.
"The responsibility is if you see a piece of litter, pick it up, don't throw it out our car window, be a role model for other adults and children by doing the right thing, DePlasco said."
