The Sarasota County Sheriff's Office says it has busted a major narcotics operation.
After a two-year investigation, 61 people are under arrest.
Investigators say the people involved in the operation obtained 220 fraudulent prescriptions that netted them close to 20,000 painkiller pills.
The street value of the medication would have been around $300,000, the sheriff's office said.
The ringleader was arrested in Miami on unrelated charges. Pedro Alcantara is charged with conspiracy to traffic in oxycodone.
More warrants have been signed, and more arrested are expected.
