Women are too hard on themselves, article says

Posted: Updated:
MYFOXNY.COM -

Sometimes we women are so hard on ourselves. Our self-criticizing ways prompted the Huffington Post to come up with a list to make us feel better. Emma Gray, editor for HuffPost Women, wrote a post entitled "23 Things Every Woman Should Stop Doing." She spoke to Fox 5 about what prompted her to write the story.

Maybe you're guilty of doing something on the list. Yes, holding onto regrets and guilt is no. 9 on the list.

Do you wear high heels everyday? That's no. 10.

Maybe you view food as the enemy? That's no. 4.

Do you set deadlines for major life events such as marriage and motherhood?

Or maybe you say "yes" when you mean "no" and spend time with people just out of obligation?

Dr. Cooper Lawrence, a psychologist, said she is not surprised the list shows women putting themselves last. She said it is part of our nature as caregivers.

Dr. Ross Levin, a behavioral sleep specialist and clinical psychologist, says there is an abundance of urban myths about dreams. No, good and bad smells or spicy foods won't influence your dreams. But reading or watching something scary before you go to bed might cause you to dream about something disturbing.

The breathtaking spa is illuminated by hundreds of candles and smells of invigorating eucalyptus. For around $80 you can bathe in the tranquil blue pools for 90 minutes and find the temperature that's right for you.
