Gas leak forces Woodward Ave. closure in Royal Oak

ROYAL OAK, Mich. (WJBK) -

The northbound lanes of Woodward Avenue in Royal Oak remain closed Wednesday as crews work to fix a rupture gas main.

According to the myFOXDetroit.com traffic map, the road is closed between 9 Mile road and Catalpa/Vinsetta and will remain closed until at least 2 p.m.

SkyFOX captured images of Consumers Energy crews on the scene working to fix the issue in front of the Onion Roll Deli, one block north of 11 Mile Road.

Motorists can try Main St., Coolidge, Southfield Rd., I-75 or Telegraph as possible alternates.
