It may be the first step to end a revolving door of top teachers.
The Florida State Board of Education voted to make Pam Stewart the new State Education Commissioner.
She has held the position on an interim basis since last month, when Tony Bennett abruptly resigned. He left after questions were raised about changing the grade of a charter school run by a big political donor.
Pam Stewart is a former teacher from Hillsborough County. She is now Florida's fourth education commissioner in the past three years.
