A West Philadelphia day care is under investigation after one of its workers was charged with assaulting a child Sunday.
The incident happened at the Future People Day Care Center on the 5700 block of Ludlow and South Street around 10 a.m.
Police report 57-year-old Genel James pushed an 11-year-old girl and hit her 2 -year-old brother in the face. The girl then called police from a phone inside the daycare center.
James allegedly then locked the front door of the center and left the children inside.
James was arraigned Monday morning, bail was set at $100,000 and her next court date is scheduled for October 15.
