Aisha Jean Clark looks like one proud mom. Her Facebook page is filled with precious moments with her two boys.
But it was a picture the young mom posted on the photo-sharing app Instagram that landed her in hot water.
Tampa police say it showed Clark dangling her baby boy over a 12-foot apartment balcony.
Genesis Wilson is Aisha Clark's close friend and neighbor.
She saw the picture of the dangling baby and couldn't believe it.
"When I saw the picture, I thought it didn't look good. It didn't put her in a good light," Wilson said.
Clark's Instagram is set to private, and police are not releasing the photo, so very few have seen it.
But TPD spokesperson Laura McElroy confirmed it shows Clark dangling the baby by the arm.
Wilson knows her friend will be judged for making a mistake.
"If I was someone looking from the outside in, I would be disturbed by the picture. But by me knowing her and being friends with her, I know that she did not do it maliciously," Wilson said.
But the young mom didn't help herself when a police officer showed up to question her about the photo,
In the police reports, she appears defiant, telling the officer:
"I was mad and I was making a point. I can do what I want with my baby. Nobody can stop me," she said, according to the police report.
Yet Wilson says there is no doubt Clark is regretting taking the photo that now has her posing for a mugshot.
"I know from speaking to her sister, if she could take it back and change everything that happened she would," Wilson said.
