It seems the University of South Florida's growth is being recognized on a national scale.
The school has been ranked 170th in the latest U.S. News and World Report for influential schools in the country. USF was also named an "up and comer" school for its academics, faculty, student life, campus and other facilities.
Although many are not too surprised by this, USF has really been making some major additions to the campus over the years.
Florida had several schools that made the list - although none that were considered "top" schools.
This is the fourth time USF has made the list, and USF officials are already coming out and saying it's a huge achievement that should be recognized.
For other Florida schools, the University of Miami was the highest at 47th. The University of Florida was at 49th. Florida State ranked in at 91.
The Florida Institute of Technology in Melbourne also made the list at 167, and Central Florida actually tied with USF at number 170.
The list also ranks top regional schools, and several Florida schools made that list as well. Some of the highlights: University of Tampa at 22; Saint Leo at 55; and USF St. Petersburg at 80.
