Bucs fans disappointed after heartbreaking loss

TAMPA (FOX 13) -

It's almost a national holiday, the first Sunday of the NFL season. The Bucs kicking off their campaign on FOX on the road in New York. Fans here at home, geared up and tuned in.

"The atmospheres is great it is really busy," said Lynn Snow.

It brought out Karl Riguad to the Press Box and his lucky "Keshawn" Jersey.

"I've been a Bucs fan since 98 I've been collected autographs since '98," he said.

"That's my lucky jersey," he said.

That luck seemed to be on the Bucs side most of the game. It wasn't pretty, but with the lead, Bucs fans were loving it.

"I'm feeling real good Tampa look good defense looking real awesome," said Jose Ojeda.

Notice that elation, that would change in the final seconds, after a foolish penalty allowed the Jets to kick a long game winning field goal, stealing a victory.

"We had it...we had it," Ojeda said.

But despite the loss, fans are trying to focus on the positive. The game was on TV, the Bucs had some bright moments and most importantly it's only game one.

"Not hurt because there is another game coming up next week...thats what counts the next one," Ojeda said.

And that next one, the home opener against the Saints at Raymond James.

Another chance to get in the win column because its not how you start, its how you finish.

"If your a real fan you'll stick by your team no matter what," Frank McGill said.
