Three people, including a baby, were found dead in a Brooksville home Thursday night, and investigators suspect a murder-suicide took place.
According to the sheriff's office, deputies responded to a home on Caliquen Drive in the Hernando Oaks subdivision after a neighbor called 911. When deputies arrived at the home, they discovered a man, woman and 9-month-old child stabbed to death.
Investigators say Jamil Etayem and Rosanna Sampson had only lived at the home since July, but deputies had been called to the home twice for reports of a suicidal man.
The first call was August 20. Deputies determined that Jamil Etayem was distressed, but not a danger to himself. On August 24, they responded again and discovered that Etayem had battered Sampson, his girlfriend. He was arrested on a domestic violence charge but bonded out the next day.
Thursday night, the couple's neighbor called 911 after hearing loud arguments and seeing something "not normal" at the home. Deputies arrived to find Sampson and her son Carter both dead from knife wounds. Etayem was also found dead from self-inflicted wounds.
