Beyonce Closes Out Night One Of 'Made In America' In Philly

Posted: Updated:
PHILADELPHIA -

Thousands packed the Ben Franklin Parkway on Saturday to watch more than 20 diverse musical acts on three stages.

In its second year, the "Made in America" music festival has only gotten bigger. With acts like Beyonce and Nine Inch Nails, Philadelphia is one of the hottest spots in the country this Labor Day.

Even after a long day, the party was just getting started Saturday night. When FOX 29's Dave Kinchen reported live from the parkway, super-star Beyonce was getting ready to hit the stage.

And Saturday was just day one of the two-day music festival.

On Sunday, Macklemore, Wiz Khalifa and Calvin Harris are all set to take the stage – with industrial music legends "nine inch nails" closing out the concert.

Night fell Saturday on the pulsating rhythms of the Made in America festival with a crowd growing more energized by the hour.

The crowd rocked out to some techno music earlier in the night.

There was something for everyone, including some of the newest rap stars.

And there was the soulful sound of British R&B singer Emile Sande.

Even hip-hop legends Public Enemy brought the classics.

But there was one artist everyone seemed to be looking to see.

There was no doubt Beyonce was set to be the highlight of night one as the headliner.

But not everything went according to plan.

There were some festival-goers leaving as Beyonce performed, Kinchen reported on his Twitter account. Fans were voicing anger on Twitter, saying a video feed of her performance was cut early.
