It's been a Largo landmark for forty-six years, but soon there will be no more perfect games, strikes or spares at Twedt's Bowling Center.
Labor Day will be the last day for the family fun center at the intersection of Seminole Boulevard and UImerton road. General Manager Tod Janssen says the decision to close was just a business decision.
"There's so many more activities to do now a days than there were say thirty years ago," Janssen said.
The bowling alley's business hasn't been as great as in days gone past, but it's been the Men's Bowling League, which meets every Thursday in the summer that has kept the place alive. Forty-eight guys get together for their weekly competition, they say has built a brotherhood over the years.
Many of the bowlers there say they are sad to see the place close down because of so many great memories.
