Boo is one very special horse. Not only is he stylish, sporting high-top sneakers and cute red bows in his mane, this miniature horse has a huge heart for helping others.
Boo is a therapy horse. He and his owner, Robin Bidwell, travel around the Bay area to hospitals, nursing homes and other rehab facilities.
"He loves it. He loves visiting, he loves the attention. And I think he knows what he's doing," Bidwell said.
Robin rescued Boo a couple years ago, and it didn't take her long to realize that he was a very special horse.
"When we found him, he was in untaken care of shape. So we knew we had to bring him home, regardless," Bidwell said. "And once we got him home and found out what a wonderful guy he is, we knew we had to share him."
Robin shares her friend Boo with all the kids at St. Joseph's Children's Hospital. When they see Boo, their little eyes light up.
"I spend a lot of time with Boo travelling, visiting other people, and every minute of it, I enjoy with him," said Bidwell, who sees what a difference it makes for other people and in her own life.
Anyone who meets Boo walks away with a smile – and sometimes even a kiss.
