TAMPA (FOX 13) -

It's going to get even busier at the Port of Tampa next year. A second Royal Caribbean cruise ship -- and the sixth in all -- will begin sailing from the port next fall.

Royal Caribbean announced Thursday that Vision of the Seas will join sister ship Brilliance of the Seas, which already sails from Tampa. Both ships will make wintertime cruises to various destinations in the Caribbean.

Brilliance of the Seas just completed ship-wide renovation in May, and Vision of the Seas will be overhauled in September, Royal Caribbean said.

Both ships hold roughly 2,500 passengers per trip.  Combined with Carnival's two ships and one each operated by Holland America and Norwegian, port officials expect 1 million passengers to pass through -- the most ever in the port's 31-year history.

"The Port of Tampa has been a great partner for more than a decade and we look forward to continued growth with the Tampa Port Authority in the future," Royal Caribbean's president and CEO, Adam Goldstein, said in the press release announcing the expansion.
