OAK PARK, Mich. (WJBK) -

A 19-year-old Northville man is dead Wednesday, police say after he was shot by a supposed friend.

Thomas Chavez Carr was playing video games at a friend's house when he got a call from another friend asking for a ride. The two went to pick up the third friend. At the end of the drive, the suspect reportedly shot Carr in the head as he was getting out of the vehicle.

Carr was killed instantly. We're told the suspect forced Carr's friend to dump his body in the woods of Dewey Park - then turned the gun on him.

But fortunately for the friend, the gun jammed, and he was able to get away.

He made his way to a woman's house in Oak Park. That woman tells Fox 2's Maurielle Lue she heard hysterical screaming, and then saw someone standing at her door covered in blood and mud.

The woman helped the friend, and called the police. Officers searched the woods and found enough evidence for Carr's friend to pick out the suspect in a line-up.

He was arrested Wednesday at his house in Oak Park. He's expected to be arraigned by Friday.
