Detective on leave after wife arrested in adverse possession case

HILLSBOROUGH (FOX 13) -

There's more fallout from a case of adverse possession in Hillsborough County.

A Manatee County detective is now on unpaid leave after his wife was arrested and charged with breaking into a vacant home.

Deputy Leon Pollock has been with the sheriff's office since 1998.

Last week, his wife Jeanella was arrested for moving into a home in Riverview. She even changed the locks.

The homeowner had recently moved out due to financial difficulties, but she never gave anyone permission to live there.

Adverse possession laws only apply to homes that have been abandoned for at least seven years.
