Suspect held without bond after Deadly Stabbing

UPDATE: Twenty-one year-old Joseph Amore made his first appearance in court Sunday morning. He is being held without bond.

Amore is charged with Second Degree Murder and Aggravated Battery following a double stabbing.

According to police, the stabbing happened just before 3 a.m. at the corner of East 5th Ave. and North 16th street. 

The deceased victim has been identified as 21-year-old Joshua Rankin. A second victim, 21-year-old William Merdeiros, sustained non-life threatening injuries.

There is no word what led up to the stabbing. The incident remains under investigation.
