LAKELAND (FOX 13) -

The Polk County Sheriff's Office has released an image of the truck sought in a serious hit-and-run crash earlier this week.

Deputies are looking for whoever was driving a Ford F-150 pickup truck, which is believed to be a 2004-2007 model and is either beige or tan.

Eric Alexander of Haines City was left critically injured from the accident. Deputies say he was riding on his Yamaha scooter on Highway 17 into Lake Alfred when it happened.

Alexander's fiancé told FOX 13 earlier this week that every morning he would let her know when he got to work, but that morning she never got a call.

The 48-year-old was found by rescuers on the side of the road. He remained at Lakeland Regional Medical Center in critical condition Friday.

Deputies say the pickup truck has right, front-end damage to the headlights, as well as possible damage to the grill or hood.

If you recognize this vehicle or the owner, please call (836) 298-6200.
