ST. PETERSBURG (FOX 13) -

The St. Petersburg Police Department has made an arrest in a triple shooting Friday morning that left one person dead in St. Petersburg.

Investigators have arrested 30-year-old Hayward Conrad Hopkins without incident. Hopkins is charged with second degree murder in the death of Daniel Brown III.

Investigators say Hopkins and Brown were trying to rob two men -- identified by police as identified as 21-year-old Ryan Jaeger and 23-year-old Charles Hernandez -- during a drug deal.

Police say Jaeger was armed and ready when the robbery occurred, police said, and what happened next was a shootout inside a home at 4313 21st Street N.

At the end of it, Brown was dead and both Jaeger and Hernandez were shot. Hopkins managed to flee the scene unharmed.

Detectives said Jaeger and Hernandez are expected to recover.
