Clear bags, black screens ahead for Bucs fans

TAMPA (FOX 13) -

Thursday night's pre-season Bucs game was fans' first experience with the new NFL bag rules. No longer are large purses or backpacks allowed inside Ray Jay; instead, only clear plastic bags or see-through totes.

"Anything that keeps us safe is fine with me," said Jody Hill, a fan.

As fans at the game continue to get used to the new rules, folks at home are dealing with an old problem: blackouts. This game is another one that's not on TV.

In the last three years, only four of the 23 regular season home games have been televised. The blackout rule is made by the NFL; fans say it has to go.

The good news is team higher-ups expect fewer blackouts this year, citing a high number of season ticket renewals.

"Let fans watch the game," said Frank Stone.

"We just have to do it right," Adam Waldo said.
