Montgomery County Won't Stop Issuing Gay Marriage Licenses

Updated:
NORRISTOWN, Pa. -

The debate over marriage equality is heating up in Montgomery County.

County Solicitor Raymond McGarry claims Pennsylvania's Health Department has no case when it comes to suing the Register of Wills.

They've been handing out marriage licenses to same-sex couples over the past few weeks.

However, the register of wills says they aren't following the state's constitution, they're following the national Constitution, which promises equal rights for all people.

So far, 62 same-sex couples have received given marriage licenses in Montgomery County.
