Florida's tax-free holiday for school supplies is back.
The event starts Friday at 12:01 a.m. and ends Sunday at midnight. Retailers are planning to bring in extra staff to handle large crowds.
This year, some new items are on the tax-free list, including computers and tablets.
School supplies can add up. The National Retail Federation expects families with school-aged children will spend more than $600 this year on shoes, clothes and supplies.
The exemption does not apply to any item of clothing selling for more than $75, to any school supply items selling for more than $15, or to any personal computer or related accessory selling for more than $750.
Tax free holiday does not include cellular telephones, video game consoles, digital media receivers, or devices that are not primarily designed to process data.
