Former Tarpon Springs Police Officer Larry Kobielnik is accused of kidnapping and sexually battering a woman, while posing as a police officer.
Deputies say the woman was walking on Gulf to Bay Boulevard in Clearwater, when Kobielnik pulled up to her, and offered her a ride.
Investigators say she got in the car, and when she asked to get out, Kobielnik pulled out a handgun and a police badge, and told her she was under arrest.
Deputies say he drove her to a house in Dunedin, where he assaulted her, and held her hostage.
She got away a few hours later, when Kobielnik fell asleep, and called police, who tracked him down using his vehicle tag number.
He was arrested, and booked into the Pinellas County Jail.
We are not sure why Kobielnik left his job with the Tarpon Springs Police, but Deputies say he now works for the T.S.A.
