A little girl is recovering after she was run over by a riding lawn mower.
Four year-old Makaya Lee is in fair condition at Tampa General Hospital.
She was playing in her yard in Bowling Green yesterday afternoon when her father accidentally hit her with his lawnmower.
Her leg is badly hurt but her doctors say she is expected to recover.
The family of another recent lawnmower accident victim is pushing the state and federal government to tighten lawnmower safety regulations.
You'll recall two-year-old Ireland Nugent lost both her feet in April when her father accidentally backed over her at their home in Palm Harbor.
Ireland's mother, Nicole Nugent, says something needs to be done to make mowers safer
"My recommendation would be if you are going to sell a lawnmower to somebody else, you need to disclose anything you've done to it, the safety features removed, any of that. Because you can do that right now and not even tell somebody," she said.
Nicole nugent says there should also be lawnmower safety checks offered regularly at businesses that sell the machines or at fire departments.
