Stifling temperatures during the heat wave gripping New York City made dealing with a power outage overnight Friday all the more difficult for residents in the Olinville and Williamsbridge sections of The Bronx.
The juice stopped flowing at about Midnight.
At the height of the outage there were more than 5,200 customers without power.
By 7 a.m., all but a dozen or fewer customers were without power.
The Mott Haven section of the borough also experienced a recent power outage. The juice was flowing again on Thursday.
Con Edison services 3.4 million customers.
No major power outages have been reported during the heat wave.
