Police have captured a suspect accused of stealing thousands of dollars' worth of pills from a CVS in Clearwater.
Alexander Christopher Cintron-Reyes, 22, entered the CVS at 1889 N. Highland Ave., where police say he browsed around the store for a few moments before heading to the pharmacy and handing the pharmacist a list of medications.
According to police, he told the pharmacist she had one minute to give him what he wanted.
He allegedly took off with 10 to 12 bottles of pills – more than 1,500 pills in total – with a street value of more than $10,000.
Officers were nearby when they received a call about the crime, got a description of Cintron-Reyes, watched surveillance video and were able to catch him about a block away from the store.
No injuries were reported.
