Deputies in Hillsborough County say a robber slammed an SUV into a food mart's storefront Thursday morning – and it wouldn't be the only structure they went crashing into.
It happened at the Seffner Food Mart at Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard and Lakeview Avenue. Deputies say the suspect intentionally ran the SUV into the store, and then went in to rob it.
A short distance away, a deputy spotted the vehicle and tried to pull it over. The suspect didn't stop.
That proved to be wrong move.
Deputies say the suspect lost control in a neighborhood and drove the vehicle into the side of a home in the Mango area.
They weren't injured in the crash, but they did end up in jail. The suspect has been arrested, but deputies have not identified them yet.
FOX 13 spoke to the owner, but he declined to comment. They said the suspect took beer and cigarettes.
